Partnerships

Wheatley Nursery School

John Watson School is led by Wheatley Nursery School and John Watson Schools federated Governing body. Wheatley Nursery School is a separate school with its own DfE number, however the headteacher and many other staff are jointly employed by both schools. All children under the age of 5 who are on the John Watson School’s roll are also on the roll of Wheatley Nursery School. WNS is located on John Watson School’s Primary site.

The Wheatley Partnership

John Watson School is an active member of the Wheatley Area Learning Partnership (WALP) of Schools which includes Wheatley Park School and its feeder primary schools. The partnership supports various curriculum working groups and tackles issues that affect us all. The partnership schools draw on the expertise of John Watson School for advice and support for their own pupils with special educational needs.

Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance (OTSA)

John Watson School is a Partner School of Oxfordshire Teaching Schools Alliance (OTSA). Teachers, support staff and governors have access to high quality training and other support including a pool of Specialist Local and National Leaders of Education.Please click on the  link www.otsa.org.uk.

Oxfordshire Association of Special Schools Heads (OASSH)

We also play an active role in  Oxfordshire Association of Special Schools Heads (OASSH) which supports our professional development of senior and middle leaders.

A Community School

The school is well-known in the local community and pupils visit a range of local businesses and organisations as part of their education.

The school makes accommodation available for a number of community groups in Wheatley and rooms can be hired for meetings.
